can someone tell me how an egg is hen or rooster

You can't tell until after they are hatched....

Or did you want to know how sex is determined in chickens?

A few breeds are different colors, m/f, at hatch, but MOST look just like each other til about 6 weeks.

Experienced folks at the hatchery can look at the vent and see some kind of difference (knowing what to look for, how to see it and how not to hurt the chick) and will sex chicks to send out as all pullets.

But they are not 100% either.

So there you go. DNA (you remember the old X/Y chromosomes) sets the sex of the chick, but no way to know for sure til the comb, wattles and crowing begin. As much as I stare at them, I just can't see their chromosomes..... maybe I need better glasses.
