We have a weird chicken. Last April one of our hens hatched a single chick. It looks(ed) like a hen, no big red comb, small wattle, no spurs, made soft cooing or clucking noises. That all changed about 2-3 weeks ago, it is now 8 months old, bigger than mama and papa

, huge red comb and wattle, hackle and saddle feathers. Still no spurs and only deep clucking noises. Can a hen have saddle and hackle feathers? Or can a rooster not crow and not have spurs? I will try to include some pics. Foot pics aren't the best, but there are no spurs.

He's a rooster. He's being subordinated by the flock rooster, but will eventually start crowing and mating hens, and then the fun may start with him and his dad.

He's not weird, and he's all boy. He's just a late bloomer and not brave enough to start stuff with dad, even if he's bigger than dad. This spring will probably change all that.
