Hen Pecking on Rooster

I have one rooster and eight hens. Recently, one of the hens has begun pecking on the rooster's comb and just below it until it was very bloody. I separated the rooster for several days and treated him with Vetericyn but same thing happened when he was allowed to return. Not sure at this point what to do--maybe keep the hen separated for a few days? Is there something I can put on the comb? None of the hens appear to be overly aggressive so unsure about what is causing this behavior.

you should try to take the aggressive hen out for a while. when you put her back in with the others she will be considered a newcomer and will be put lower on the pecking order and she might stop pecking on the rooster.
