Hen pooping out meat? Possible lash egg?

Hello everyone, I have a 3-year-old hen who has been slightly lethargic for a few days. We thought she was sick so we did what we usually do, bring her inside and give her food and water until she recovers. As far as I know, she hasn't been eating any of the usual chicken feed but we let her outside for a few hours every morning and she eats grass/stuff in the dirt. She's been drinking water normally and we've been force-feeding a little bit of scrambled eggs in the morning/night.

Two days ago she pooped/laid what looks like meat (last 2 images) and this morning another small piece (first 2 images). The closest thing I could find online was a lash egg. Based on what I've been reading that would be really bad. She's still pooping but hasn't laid any eggs. Otherwise, in the short term, she seems ok. She's still active enough to try pecking her sisters, none of which are lethargic or exhibiting any symptoms.

What makes this worse is that I've been out of town for work, so my mother has been taking care of them and she doesn't have experience taking care of sick chickens. When I heard about the weird poop, I instantly booked a flight back but the earliest flight I can take is the end of next week. The earliest vet appointment I could get was July 3rd, but I'm not even sure if that vet is familiar with chickens. I've ordered some nutri-drench which should arrive tomorrow.

My main questions/concerns are:
  • Is this a lash egg or something else?
  • Is there any medication or supplement I should get?
  • Anything else I can do to make her better?
I'm not too knowledgeable about chickens but I love my hens very much. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Just making sure, how should it be administered? My understanding is half the capsule (125mg), twice per day. Is it just a powder that can be dumped in the mouth? At what point should we stop giving it to her?

Also, should I be worried about the other chickens getting this too?

I wouldn't worry about the others.
Just mix it into a little bit of food or roll it into a bread ball with a little water and pop it into her mouth.

What ended up happening with your hen? We have one with the same issue.
Welcome to BYC.
Unfortunately that person hasn't been back online since she made that post.

If your bird is passing lash egg material than it is a guarantee that she has a serious infection brewing and probably has had it for a while already.

You can visit the vet to get a round of antibiotics, but it is probably too late for antibiotics to help much.

The number one thing to do to try and prevent this type of infection is to keep your birds on a balanced diet and not feed treats at all.
