Hen Pulled Our Large Area of Feathers Below Vent - EDIT: LAID TWO EGGS AN HOUR APART

18% layer feed is fine. There are all flock or multi flock formulas that are anywhere from 18-22% protein.

Egg, fish, meat can be given to help boost protein a bit. You can give plain yogurt about 1 Tablespoon per bird.

Is it just the 2? They may be getting little bored, hang a few leaves of fresh greens, a 1/4 of a cabbage or 1/2 of an apple for them to pick at during the day.

Yes. I had a third, and she died two weeks ago. She was the "middle child". The sweetie of the group.

I have tried scrambled egg and yogurt, and they turned up their little beaks. I'll introduce it again.

I put their dried meal worms in a ball that dispenses a few at a time as they kick it around to give them a bit of activity and play. I'll try hanging some lettuce leaves for them. I also play classical music for them all day, but I don't know if that is mind stimulating like it is for us.

Edit to add: Violet laid an egg yesterday, and the shell was normal. It took her all day in and out of the box, and the egg was small. Today she is taking the day off and only went into the nest a few times for a while then was like "nah, not feeling it". I am hoping her little body regulates itself back to what was an easy schedule for her.
