Ok I know this sounds crazy and it's not even my chicken. It's a neighbors chicken that free ranges. She is sitting in my husband's shed. Like she is broody. But there are no eggs under her. She has been there for 4 days. Can't make her leave she just comes right back. Broken out window so I can't lock her out. And I feel bad for her anyways. I know the neighbor won't come get her if we tell him cause already told him last year a hen hatched babies behind shed and he didn't come get her. He has tons of free range chickens all over the neighbor hood. Anyway whats wrong with this hen? Doesn't she know she doesn't have any eggs?

they can and will go broody even with no eggs under them, there isn't much you can do for her other than wait for the broodiness to break or give her some fertile eggs to hatch out

Seeing as hens will sit on golf balls and expect to hatch them, I don't think that there is much you can do. You can try to give her some eggs to hatch, or try to break her broodiness, or simply cover the window so that you can lock her out. Having your chickens all over the neighborhood is not great and possibly illegal in some places, so if it is a real issue you may want to take it up with the neighbor. You could try putting her in a dog crate and leaving her on the neighbor's porch, because then he has his chicken back and she is off your property.

Lol. It's ok his chickens really don't bother me. I was just more concerned for her health to be sitting and no reward. Feel sorry for her. She looks so determined

Exactly what angel said. Not sure, try putting anthem egg right in front of her. She should roll it under her to incubate it.

I'd be worried about his birds in your yard if he doesn't care for them,
they could be carrying lice/mites/disease that could spread to your birds.
I'd block off taht window and put her in a cardboard box on his porch,
not in a crate cause you probably wouldn't get it back.
Sorry, irresponsible animal owners like your neighbor just tick me off!
