Hen sound like a pigeon!!

All of my girls are just over 22 weeks and no eggs yet! One of the girls today is making a funny cooing noise then i tried to pet her when i move my hand back she turns round in wee circles!! None of then are squatting. what does strange activity mean??

I have no idea if that is her version of a squat or not, but it sounds absolutely adorable!

Sounds like she may be telling you she likes you. When my girls make that cooing sound, it's usually when I'm holding them and stroking their backs. No wee circles here though. I understand that the petting down the back may send a signal to her kinda like the rooster does, that it's time for lovin'. Are eggs near? Maybe.
