My favorite hen keeps choking but she seems that there is some gurgling and she just makes a choking sound. She was healthy all her life and i have no idea what happened. But, some of the chickens the same day were doing the same behavior and they all are healthy and my hen is struggling,. She is only 2 yrs and i cannot understand what exactly happened.

She has a little gurgling and she keeps either coughing or trying to get something out of the wind pipe. A couple of days back three chickens were also gurgling and kind of coughing but the recovered . She is my favorite hen and so friendly. She just keeps coughing and a little bit of rattling and gurgling. I thought maybe may have had a roo to try have babies and there may have some water in the lungs. She seems to be a cemani cross. And so friendly and lays a lot of eggs. The other chickens are back to normal. So there were some others.

Can you get a video of her?
Upload to youtube and provide a link.

What is this about have a roo to try to have babies and water in the lungs - I'm not sure what this means??

You have other hens(?) with similar symptoms a few days ago but now they are ok?

Have you added new birds recently? Have you ever had respiratory illness in your flock?

Have you looked inside her beak for any obstruction, lesions, mucous or canker?

What does her crop feel like?

See if she can drink on her own and keep her hydrated. Once drinking offer some feed.

She seems to be a cemani cross.

I thought he was impregnating her and that she may have put her head down and got into a water dish. But there was two others that had the symptoms and they recovered. My flock is secure. The crop is empty and the hen is not eating. she was a solid body in this hen.and losing weight. Just now after the questions and I gave her some yogurt and she did eat a little yogurt. Yes the chickens seem fine although the roo still has a little gurgle also but not as much before. I thought maybe the snow storm may have caused this? I really don't know. And I thought maybe I could give her some fenben I will check her in the morning.

Fenbendazole will treat worms, is that what you think is causing the symptoms?
