My banty hen keeps switching between two nests. Any suggestions?
She'll sit in one nest for 2 or 3 days and then I find her in the nest right next to the one she had been sitting in. So I take the eggs and put them back under her. Will they still hatch? Why would she keep switching nests?

I've had this happen and gotten chicks. When she gets up for her daily outing, probably someone else sits on her eggs, so she just goes to a different spot. At least, I've watched mine do this several times. Eggs can cool off and still hatch, though the hatch may be delayed a little. Especially in this weather, it probably isn't that critical.

It might help if you move her rather than the eggs, so she (maybe) will get trained to one nest. Maybe.

Good luck!

Thanks. I didn't even think about moving her.....I'll try that next time she switches nests again.
