Hi there!
I have a hen that is 7 months old. She laid several good (and beautifully green!) eggs at first - right at 5 months old - then didn’t for a week or so, then laid a soft shell, then stopped for a few days, then laid a no shell, and now hasn’t laid for over a month. She seems quite healthy. They are on a layer feed with oyster shells beside. Her flock all lays wonderfully. She appears healthy and active. I never see her in a nesting box other than to see what I’m doing in there. Just doesn’t lay eggs!! Is there reason for concern? Is this likely genetic? No trauma or stressful situations to speak of. She gets to stay regardless. We love her! Just thought I would investigate. I miss those green eggs!
