Hen thinks she is a rooster

donrae's right, a crowing hen isn't nearly as common as people wish it was. If your hen starts to crow, think ROOSTER, not "crowing hen."

The simplest explanation is almost always the correct one.
 
I agree - that's a total roo. But I don't agree that crowing hens are unusually rare; I have two in my flock of 13, AND I have a rooster! They don't crow very often (maybe a few times per month) and are definitely hens (I've watched them both lay eggs).

So it's possible... but not in your case. Sorry! Can you keep a roo?
