Senility affects more than people. I think at 4 years of age, it might be an issue here.

It really doesn't matter what the issue is, you cannot wish them nice. You have more than enough space and room. I would separate them if you want to keep them both, or I would cull them and get some younger birds.

The usual reasons for fighting:

• not enough space
• new birds
• sickness

None of these seem to apply. I think they are just old and crabby.

I dont really think you should do that if you like them
Some people keep some for 10 years+
With chickens there are challenges that come along every now and then but they all can be solved
If you dont want them anymore then its different
