Hen will not sleep on roost

About two weeks ago one of my 8 month old hens decided to start sleeping in a nesting box. She is not brooding. Each night I put her on the roost and she stay there but can't get her to go there on her own. I tried blocking the nest she gets into and she just moved to the next. I don't want to block all the nests since some of the girls lay early in the morning before I get out there. Any suggestions on how to break her of the habit.

I had a hen do that. If she wants to sleep in a nest, and there is one open then she go to the open one. I had to block all the nests for about 3 nights before my hen started going up on the roost. I went out and took the board off the nests around daylight. I didn't have any hens laying by then. The other thing you can do is to keep going out and physically taking her out of the nest and onto the roost. Problem is, you won't know how long it might take her to quit jumping down and back into the nest.
