Good Morning, I just let my chickens out and CheChe flew down from her roosting pole and I heard a snap. She fell down and stood back up but I checked it out and it is swelled up a bit. 2/3 up the leg by the joint. She will not put any weight on it.
I put her in a small little chicken pen away from all the other chickens. What can I do for her?

Hello! I'm so sorry, I would keep her in a small space like you're doing, give her something sweet to counter the pain a little bit. Feed her whatever she wants, as the pain lessens she will eat more.

Can you get a picture of the leg while someone holds her? If a vet is possible, they can xray it and splint it. Splints with padding, a stiff object (popsicle stick,) and vet wrap, cohesive bandage or tape may help. It can take 3-5 weeks for a bone to develop a callus (healed bone) and she should be separated unless it is splinted. A warning about splints and tape, is that they may slip and get too tight, so check circulation often. Here is a splinting manual that may be helpful:

I have a bunch of bossy hens and about 10 roosters. Keeping her in with my Pekin ducks right now because the other chickens will not leave her alone. I think it might be her middle toe not leg after it started swelling up.
