Hello All, im a newbie here only had my girls for a week now but hoping i can learn from you all.
Im in need of a bit of advice, My husband and I purchased 3 gorgeous young hens last week Agatha(a light sussex) Penelope(a bluebell) and Rosalie( columbian Blacktail) all aprx 19 wks old.Agatha and Penelope were being kept in the same barn while Rosalie was in another barn with other blacktails.
all have had vaccinations required for their age.
However after 2 days we noticed that Rosalie wascoughing and a bit sneezy, the next day she had a runny nose so we called the breeder who was very helpful and told us we could either swap her or he would give her antibiotics to help.Having already got so attached to her we took the antibiotics(Tylan soluble) and seperated her from the others. The Tylan was given in her water on days 1 and 3(cider vinegar was added to her water for day 2), she immeadiatly perked up and has now finished the supply of Tylan given her.
From your own experience how long after the final dose should she stop being symptomatic and how long after can she join her friends again?
I know Im a newbie but really want to give My Girls the best start possible.
thanks for any advice
Christina (by the way am in UK)
