Hen with a Poo covered bottom

One of my hens has poo all over the feathers under her vent. I have not been able to check her vent bacause I can't catch her. She is free ranging right now in the yard so I thought I'd try to check her vent tonight when they go to roost.

Yes, wait until they are roosting. It works best if you have two people, a light source and a small pair of scissors. If the poo is dry, try to clip it off.

I actually came here to post the same thing. My chicken is not as lively as usual. I guess I will have to wait until night to check her.
