I was watching some of my chickens today when I noticed that one of my brabanters' faces looked off. It appears to be swollen around her wattles, and she has some bumps under her nostrils. She is still acting normally and eating and drinking. I'm not sure if she's still laying; I have six brabanter hens, and they don't all lay every day, so not sure on that. I looked up a few poultry diseases, but none of the pictures I found looked exactly like what was going on with her. I took a couple pics, but I was holding the chicken under one arm and taking pics with the other, so they're not the best. Anybody have any idea what's wrong with her? Any recommendations for treatment options if so?

Unless someone has another idea I am thinking it looks like fowl pox. Mine this year got it like that. Last year the ones that got it had the typical round patches on the combs and wattles. If it is...you don't really have much to do. It will run its course and be gone. You can do a search for things people do.

Thanks for the input. I read up some on fowl pox, and I think I will just keep a check on her for a few more days to see if it gets any worse or if she starts acting like it's bothering her. Hopefully, it will clear up soon. I'm wondering how likely it will be that the other chickens she's been around will contract it. I'm hoping they don't, but, then again, I know having also grants immunity in the future, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Hmm.
