Clarisse, my very first hen who's 3 years old had blue/purple tips on her comb this morning. She's eating, not all fluffed up. No new chickens brought home, not acting sick. She hasn't laid in the past few weeks. They were all wormed 2 x 10 weeks ago. No bugs. The rest of her comb and wattles are normal red. If it's not cardiac failure coming on, what could it be?

Thanks for the replies, I would have to say no way to frostbite. And she doesn't have any scabs.

I would be surprised ~ she is in Florida!

Maybe bruises or scabs?

Yes. Looks similar to what happens to our roosters/hens in the winter. I think it is an early symptom of frost bite????

Not sure on that.

*Oh wait just read that she's in Florida...Then maybe it's a vitamin deficiency or something???*
