Hen with boil on foot

We have a buff orpington hen that has a boil on her left foot. We have tried to lance it twice, cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, and bandaged, but that didn't work. If y'all have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Do a search on Bumblefoot. It's a staph infection caused by staph germs getting into an abrasion. I've treated way too much of it in the last three years, but there are lots of threads on it here.

I would just add... my white rock that got bumble foot did so because there was a nail sticking out on one of my roosts!

I cut it off and then covered any other rough spots on my roosts with duct tape.

Hi, Landon! Glad to have you here on BYC! Yes, Mahonri is right about checking for rough spots, etc, in the coops and pens. I always have bumblefoot to deal with because I live in the woods and they jump on woodpiles and find broken glass and step on thorns all the time.
