I have a hen that looks a little rough and has one eye completely closed and the other mostly closed. Up until this morning, she has been acting completely normal. I can't tell you about her egg production because she is one of the ones that likes to find hiding spots for her eggs. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

My flock free ranges during the day and is confined in a coop/run overnight. Yesterday they did get some watermelon.
We have had rain recently, but none of the flooding that other areas have experienced.
From what I can tell, I may need to start her on Tylan 50. I found this one online, but unsure if it is injection only or if it can be give orally.

Thanks for your help!

She is in the same condition today. Her poo looks fine (white) and I placed an order for Tylan last night. Fingers crossed that this is the right treatment.

2nd Update: Both of her eyes are open now :). I have not done any treatment, I have been unsure of what to do (other than wait on Tylan). Her vision doesn't seem all the way normal, but she was moving around and put herself to bed.

OMG last night, my leg bar - after having a totally normal morning - was laying down, didn't really want to move and walked unsteady, a little fluffed, eyes closed or half closed, a little tail pumping, wouldn't eat or drink ..... and then a few hours later, just normal. Totally normal all day today too. *shrug* Hopefully for your gal, it's something similar, maybe with their egg production or crop, that just worked itself out on its own. ?

I hope she is 100% back to normal today. It was very weird how she was not opening her eyes - we had to catch her to put her in the coop. Maybe just all day resting yesterday was all she needed?

She is moving around and her eyes are still open, but still looks off.

And now I have another hen with her eye(s) closed. I can only see one side. She is acting the same way as the first one. 😢
