Hi. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. My 2 year old red hen has been crook for the past 5 days, no energy, off her food, her comb is completely flopped over, funny standing position, makes a strange gobble noise, i dont think she has laid an egg since about a week ago when she started looking sick. If anyone has ideas and or treatment suggests please

Any signs of a stuck egg or abdominal swelling?
Have you checked her crop for impaction and sour crop? Does it feel hard, soft, or full of liquid? Does it empty in the morning?
How does her poop look? (post a photo if you can)

Her crop looks quite big, but she doesn't seem to be eating. I haven't seen her poo. She seems to have lost quite a bit of weight. I didn't know what to look for, so I'll go and check these things now

There's strange yellow stuff in her box, not quite like egg though.

Her crop felt pretty normal, yes she is drinking and I've given her electrolytes. Thanks for the link. I'll check out the article

The crop should feel empty and flat in early morning before she eats or drinks, and full and firm in the late afternoon, if she has eaten. If hers is not emptying, then tell us if it is full, hard or puffy. Has her vent area been feather picked or is she molting? I would clean up her vent with soap and warm water, and trim any excess feathers getting in the way. You can try giving some calcium citrate with D 3 in case she is having trouble passing an egg or lash material.

Was her crop still full this morning?
Unfortunately she has passed away. 😔 Thanks for your suggestions though

I gave her an epsom salts bath yesterday. Unfortunately she passed away throughout the night 😔

I'm sorry to hear that. There was likely nothing you could have done to make her get better. Her symptoms were pointing to a reproductive issue which is sadly common for her breed type.
