My hen injured her toe two days ago. The nail was snapped off at the base and there was a lot of bleeding. We got the bleeding to stop and we cleaned and wrapped it and used Vetricyn, but we noticed last night (when we went to wrap it again) that the toe looked red and puffy. It looks infected. We cleaned it again and I started giving her injections of Duramycin antibiotic to the breast. I am not that we can do anything else for her, except wait and see if this stops the infection. ?
She is eating and drinking but she stands on one leg like a flamingo. I guess I was just wondering if anyone had been through something similar. We do love this hen very much.
