Can someone maybe give me an idea on what could be causing one of my pullets to have swelling around one eye?
It has been going on for over a week, at first I thought she may have been pecked. She is small and low in the pecking order. But it hasn't gone away.
She is drinking, eating, running around like normal, acting fine. There isn't any drainage from the eye or any other symptoms she's showing other than the swelling. TIA

I've had this before. It goes away when I dust my chickens for mites. Be sure not to put the powder in her eye, but dust it all over her feathers, as well as on her head near her eyes.

This worked for me, it could be something else in this case, but maybe try mite powder and see if it works. I hope it does. ;)

Had the exact same thing happen to one of my girls. Took her to the vet and got meds. Meds cleared it up within a couple of days. She's been isolated since starting meds last week, (1) to give her a break from the hen-pecking, and (2) we can't eat her eggs because of the meds. End of this week, she'll join the rest of the flock (3 other girls).

Just to be clear, some nasty chickens DO peck around the eyes...I have one bully who goes for the eyes when she wants to get another hen out of the favorite nest...poor girl was left with bruises and a half-closed eye...Nasty spent the rest of the day in the garage.
