Hen won’t eat extra calcium no matter what

She didn’t even look at the egg with yogurt, when I dropped some sunflower seeds into it, she tried to pick at them, and then very thoroughly cleaned her beak, cos some of the egg and yogurt had touched her beak :he I had enough, grabbed her and popped 2 calcium pills into her beak
Wow. She is stubborn! Well at least you tried. Sorry it didn't work out.:hmm

Finally successful, but… as I feared, I has to stuff 2 very large pills broken into pieces ( if you give them whole, they don’t work as well) into her beak every evening, the egg on the right is one from 4 days ago, the left one from just now, the thing is, I don’t mind stuffing pills into her, but when I am away ( oldest son is getting married in summer) I won’t find anybody who will do it for me, so I was looking for a solution the person looking after the chickens could easily do 😬 I did try smearing some liver sausage onto the pills, but the were enthusiastically gobbled up by all the others hens, in the end, my hands were covered with liver sausage ( at least my dog loved me 😉) and I think she ate 3 half pills, but that was too much „breakage“ for me, and as I said before, the other hens are doing fine, and too much extra calcium isn’t good for their kidneys
And the chicken feed is fermenting day 2.. tomorrow, it should be ready to „serve“

Following up on this, as I have an eight year old hen laying soft shelled eggs. I want to add something easy to her diet to supplement as she also doesn't eat oyster shells. How is your hen doing? Did you find something that works?
