I have a 2 year old gold laced wyandotte she walks normal on the grong and in her coop but when I pick her up and put her on a Smooth surface or even wood that's not too smooth all her toes curl up and then she can't stand any ideas on why this is happening?

It's similar to a human trying to walk across a slippery surface. We crunch up our feet and walk funny in an attempt to not fall over. Chicken feet are not meant to handle any smooth or even semi smooth surface. Your chicken walks funny because she is walking like a human does on slippery surface trying to maintain her composure and get a grip without tumbling over. Chickens should only put on surfaces that have enough grip for them to walk normally.

I mean she is the only hen that that happens with and when I put her in her carrier she just starts sliding around when the others walk normally also their roost is very smooth and she walks on it very well unlike sometimes I want to put her harness on her or other things I set her on wood that has much more grip than her roost but her toes still curl

It's normal for chickens to act like your hen on smooth surfaces even if your other hens seem to not mind it. It's not natural for a chicken to be walking on any sort of smooth surface at all in fact putting any chicken on a smooth surface is not recommended because if can result in sprains and other injuries.

Sounds like she's scrunching up, clenching her feet. She's hunkering down because she's not comfortable, possibly a bit fearful and not wanting to be handled.

Some birds just don't like being placed in carriers, on tables, slick surfaces, etc.

If you have other hens that are more cooperative, then use them for harness walking.
