I have 2 chickens. Buddy & Henrietta. Buddy seems to be over-sexed. He mounted poor Henrietta 8 times today that I saw today. No telling how many times while I wasn't watching. She needs some help in dealing with Buddy.

Roosters mate often. You need more hens, or you need to separate them by a fence so your hen isn't constantly being mated. Generally it's recommended to have 10-15 hens per rooster.

Welcome to BYC!
How old are Buddy & Henrietta?
I'd separate them asap, give poor Henny a break.
Depending on what your chicken goals are,
seriously consider not keeping a male.

Chicken goals: First and foremost to to have Crowing. Second, eggs. Third, fried chicken. I go to Lowes (building supply not the food store.) Plumbing supply, Grocery store and church. None have hens for me buy. That is why I am reaching out to BYC. Thank you I know I need more hens...... Herbert Hoover promised a chicken in every pot. His wife got involved in moving the technology to produce more chickens. She was touring a new breeding facility and was asking questions and was told that a rooster could fertilize up to 12 times per day. 12 times a day!! She turned to her subordinates and said," Please inform the president of this information imeadetly." Upon hearing the information, he asked," Why are you telling me this?" "It was your wife's instructions sir." "I see. Does the rooster mate that many times with the same hen?" "No sir, he mounts a different hen each time." he was told. "I see." said the president. "Please inform the first lady of this information as soon as possible".
