I have 8 hens and 3 roosters. 2 roosters are Bantams while the 3rd one is an Ameraucana Blue. We had an Ameraucana Wheaten, but we had to cull him due to pecking me in the nose drawing blood, getting on top of my mother's head and got stuck in her braids, and pushed my Rhode Island White into the end of the run netting and caused her hock to get injured. We got 10 hens from Hoover's Hatchery but some of the flock was dead when we got them. Going on, my German Shepard/ Black Lab mix ate 3 of my hen's alive. The last hen she ate was our favorite hen she had a black spot on her peck and laid amazing giant eggs. All of our Hens are Leghorns. This is our very first year having chickens. We live in Vermont as well. My father was in the Army for 20 years and he finally retired 2 years ago in 2019.
