We have an Aracauna and a Red Frizzle, both bantys, have started laying eggs. The aracauna laid 4 eggs, every other day, last one 6 days ago. Red frizzle started 4 days ago, one every day. Aracauna is not setting, don't know when frizzle will be done. Both went right to the the nest box I built in thier coop, used a couple of golf balls, seemed to work fine. What should we do now??

Hello, and

The short answer is that not all hens will set or "go broody" and try to incubate their eggs. And those who will go broody may not do it consistently. It's difficult, almost impossible, to force them into this state. It's something triggered by hormones & the little voices in their heads only they can hear.

Take some time to search the topic of broody hens so you'll recognize the signals if ever your hens decide to set, and what to do. Meanwhile, go ahead and enjoy those tasty fresh eggs your hens are laying.

You didn't mention if you have a rooster. If not, those eggs will never hatch. You can collect the eggs daily, keep them at room temperature, eat the older ones, and if your hens go broody give them back the fresher eggs to incubate.
Have fun with your
