I have had severe bullying in my small flock of 4, and I am absolutely over it! We have 4 hens total and 2 of them have plucked the neck and butt feathers off of her. Her butt and neck are completely bald, and we have had them separated for almost 3 weeks now. They are currently being separated by a fence in their run, and as much as we have chicken-proofed it, they still manage to cross over. We have tried putting them in the house for a couple of days and reinserting them back into the flock, and we have also tried crating them IN the run, and nothing is helping. I am DONE!!!!! they don't even bother our other hen, Only this one! What do we do!!!!!
Yes, they have enough space and are not over crowded. They are in a 10x12 run.
Yes, they have plenty of toys and things to keep them occupied, but are uninterested.
Yes, they free range, BUT only in the evenings. We are not home to let them our during the day and do live in a high predator area so we prefer to let them range in the evenings.
They are on 17% protein layer feed by Kalmbach. I have tried mixing in 20% feed and didn't notice a difference and they get mealworms occasionally for extra protein.
Thank you!
