Hens CLOSE to laying, can I switch to Layer Feed?

I wouldn't give them layer feed until I saw and egg. This time of the year pullets can go over 30 weeks before laying the first egg. That is a long time to be consuming calcium that the body won't be using.

Thanks, Angie - I may take Buff's suggestion and see if I can buy a smaller, or 'partial' bag of Grower.

I do have Oyster Shell offered free choice in a feeder in the coop that is accessible by the elder hens as well as these 'teenage' hens.
