I have a hen who was just treated for an infection (assuming it was productive infection, she is known to lay soft/broken eggs.) She hasn't laid an egg for two weeks, she just finished her round of antibiotics a few days ago. She acts fine now other than the fact her crop is not filling - I can't even feel anything. When she was sick, her crop wasn't emptying. But now that it's empty....it's not filling. I was told it's normal for a crop to slow down with a sick bird. But now I'm worried it's not filling. I do see her eating food. She is a picky eater...she likes bread (in small amounts) and wetted down crumbles so that's what I've been giving her. She had been out of the coop for 6 days while she was recovering, so not sure if the re-adjustment has anything to do with it? She got picked on for a bit but now they seem fine with her back in the flock. Or the fact she just got off antibiotics? The rest of my chickens are 100% completely healthy and show no signs of acting weird or illnesses.
She is acting like a chicken otherwise..pecking at things... her tail is up (it was down when she was sick)...runs around...goes to roost for the night....
