Hens don't like the new nest boxes...

Hi! Recently we bought the Little Giant plastic nest boxes and installed them into the coop to replace our wooden ones. But the thing is, our hens don't want to lay eggs in them. I have a golfball in each one and even tried gently placing our bantams on the roost outside of the nest box or in them. The last couple of times they just walk in and scratch at the wood shavings and get out but never lay their eggs in there. My Silkie is in a broody mood at the moment so I left one of the wood nest boxes in the coop.

Any suggestions on how to get them to use the new nest boxes?
