Hens fighting

Hi I'm new to the group. I have turkeys and chickens.
Two of my turkeys hatched chicks about 3 weeks ago and were getting along fine untill today. Now the two hens are constantly fighting. I'm not sure if they are fighting over the chicks or for some other reason. My husband had to seperate them to different pens. Now they are both squeaking like crazy at each other through the fence. Any ideas on what's going on with them?

Normal turkey behavior. Hens with poults can turn into vicious, nasty, protective mothers. If possible, put something on the separating fence so they can't see each other. A fence between turkeys, especially toms can really increase the fighting if they can see and reach each other through the fence.
