I am in Dawson County Georgia, and we recently purchased chicks from McMurray hatchery. we were meant to share this order with my uncle, but we got attached to all of the birds. We are looking for more hens to give to him. My aunt loves chickens, and takes excellent care of them. No cockerels or roosters, we will pay up to $5 for pullets, and $8 for hens, about. We will not take offers for long. My aunt would love silkies, Polishm or other cute breeds, but productive hens would be wonderful too, breeds with broody habits a plus, because ether love chicks, and would like to expand their flock. My family is looking, so offers may be declined, but it will not be because of your bird. Thank you in advance! Also, chicks and laying hens will be considered, both could possibly be bought.🐣🐤🐥🐓

Welcome from Georgia!

Here is the GA thread where you can ask and see if anyone has any chicks available.

Being from GA myself though, I have not seen pullets go for under $8 per bird unless they’re newly hatched barnyard mixes or straight run chicks. As far as hens that are already laying or close to laying are also going for $15-25 each depending on breed.

But you may find someone who is selling them at the price you’re looking for, you never know 😊

Just today I sold 5-week old pullet barnyard mixes for close to $7 each and that was because I have no interest in making crazy profit. I’ve seen people in GA advertise their straight run day old chicks for $8 each! Insane to me.

Thanks! I was really only looking for good laying hen pullets for 8 or less dollars. I wrote it wrong. Thank You!

No problem 😊

Red Sex Links are good layers and can be sexed the second they hatch so they’ll be guaranteed pullets and you’ll be able to stay within your price range.

If you try the GA thread they may be able to help you out. I know many in that thread are from near Atlanta area.

Thank, but we found some! ❤️
