I've been keeping chickens since a R. I. Red hen showed up in my backyard a year and a half ago. 13 Bantams and 3 coups later it's official! I am a card carrying chicken lover. Have any of yall had triplets or pairs of hens go broody and high tail it for the same nesting box every single day? I pull them out (no eggs) and have to close the coup to keep them out. Much to the chagrin of the other hens who also prefer that (one) box. This has been going on this particular time for almost 4 weeks!
I've also got a couple of Japanese Bantams who will find the most secretive places and lay and sit hoping for a batch of fresh chicks. I let them hatch one batch a while back and do not want to repeat for various reasons. Help?
