Hens in Heaven! (Honestly, I cannot say that without it sounding like "Pigs in Space" in my head!)
My girls haven't had any good dust baths for a while because there's been so much rain (it's winter here in the southern hemisphere). Even when it's not raining the ground is still too wet. We don't use our greenhouse in the winter, so they stay warm and dry in there during the day, but the earth in there is wet, too. So I built them a sand box! I filled their sandbox with sand, fire ash and some diatomaceous earth. How many hens can fit in a 3x2 sandbox?
Have you ever seen such contentment?!
It was such fun watching them! The rooster never did get his turn yesterday, but hopefully today he'll have a chance.
