We were away for the weekend and a friend checked our girls daily. On Saturday afternoon, their food was empty, so she refilled. On Sunday, the food hadn't been touched, but there were 2 eggs! Our first from our 22-week black stars. Today we came home to find no new eggs, and the food barely touched.
I let them out in the backyard for a bit. They pecked at some scratch but didn't devour it like they usually do. Same thing with a tomato.
So, any ideas what might be going on? I felt their necks/crop and I don't feel any knots like stuff is stuck.
I wondered if it is just because laying is "new" to at least 2 of them, or perhaps because we were gone (although, they normally are in their coop/run all day).
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
