One of our hens got her leg caught in some net fencing and a coyote seems to have bit her leg! It isn't a large puncture wound and isn't bleeding a ton.

I found her this morning tangled up and carried her inside and put her in a box. She is seemingly fine besides a bite on her leg!

Not sure what to give her or how to clean the wound. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Flush the wound out well, sterile saline, diluted chlorhexidine (hibiclens), diluted betadine, or warm, mild soapy water. For punctures an oral syringe is helpful for flushing. Then apply plain neosporin, or plain triple antibiotic ointment. Bruising may show up and it often looks greenish. Watch for signs of infection which would be redness or swelling beyond what the trauma would cause, formation of pus, or bad smell. Reapply the ointment as needed to keep the wound covered and moist, don't bandage it. I would crate her on puppy pads or clean towels to help keep it clean and dry. Monitor her eating and drinking to make sure she is, and droppings to make sure they are normal. She may be very sore for a while. Pictures are always welcome, of wounds, etc. Anything else, let us know.
