I have a few questions about missing feathers.
1) I have seen one of my hens missing feathers right under her chin. About the size of a silver dollar. I don't think this is a roo thing. Anyone know?
2) I have seen several of my hens missing feathers right in front of their tails. I assumed that they are the roos favorites and I prepared to get some aprons for them. But then I read a post about hens picking out feathers in that area from each other. I have never seen this behavior in my flock, but have seen lots of breeding going on this time of year. Any ideas?
3) Lastly, I have a hen with missing belly feathers and no, she is not setting/broody. She is kinda frazzly looking on her sides under her wings too. Can this be a moult?
I appreciate any advice so I can get these conditions under control before they are bigger problems.
