Hello all
So I got this hens born on February RIR from my neighbor about 2 weeks ago. He told me they were just started laying. Now they are on my coop and haven't lay any egg yet. They are getting along with my other hens just fine no fighting they all share the roosting area and feed. They are on pirina layena + and I deworm them all with Safeguard. Is this normal because of the moving? How long approximately for them to be able to star laying then?

The combination of stress from both being moved to a new environment and being wormed can both definitely cause hens to stop laying for a bit. It’s not uncommon for the stress from the move to cause 1-2 months of no eggs.
Thank you for your reply 🙏

I have 2 hens, which my grandma decided to move without asking me for some reason to another corner of the same the backyard, do you think this is affecting egg production? Both of them are old enough to start producing eggs, yet one has crossed beak, so is considerably smaller and undeveloped so I'm not expecting a lot of her, I wanna move them again since that corner has lots of issues, one of them is that it gets hit by the light that one of my neighbors leave on at night, but since I'm reading your comment I'm worried that it would delay egg production even more.

You mention "old enough" to start laying. How old are they and what breeds? Are their combs and wattles red or pale pink? It's possible yours just aren't mature yet.

Hi, they are leghorns, at least 7 months old (maybe 7 and half). The one I say looks healthy has red comb and wattle, meanwhile the other has pale red ones. I apologize for not having pictures with me right now.

I hope they start laying for you soon 🙏
