I have 2 leghorn hens and they have a rooster with them, not sure what breed the rooster is, I know he is a mixed breed though. My hens have only laid one egg since I got them about 1 month ago. Any suggestions on improving egg production other than layer feed. Also why they are not laying.

Do you know how old they are? Have they always been together? There could be so many factors, they could be stressed from the change of home. Are they in a protected coop/run so you are sure to be finding the eggs?

The hens have always been together although they have only been with the rooster a month. I do not know how old they are they are bigger, so not to young, the person I bought them from has had them maybe a year, but he still has some and they are laying everyday. They are in a pen so the eggs have nowhere to go lol.

They will lay, it will just take them some time to settle in. As long as they are getting plenty of good feed, and have plenty of room in their new home it will happen. Moving to a new place, and getting a new flock member, that also happens to be a rooster is a lot of change for them to adjust to. By the way, get at least 6 more hens or rehome the rooster. Those girls will get overbred and they could get seriously injured from a rooster's constant attentions. Plus, it will make the wait for eggs take even longer.
