hens only go inside at night... do I need nests outside?

I built a coop/tractor and the hens only go up into the inside at night: no matter how bad the weather is etc. I made nests for them inside, but if they have to lay during the day do I need to make nests for them outside, or will they go in? They should start laying in a few weeks.

I put a golf ball in each of my nest boxes and the birds all lay in them.

They will go in and lay. They like an nice dark quiet area to lay. Put a golf ball or plastic egg in the nest box

Thanks... I put golf balls in there, I just had NEVER seem them go in during the day....
