Hens or roosters?

Definitely not "duck, duck, goose . . ." or "Pullet, pullet, Roo . . . " Looks more like "Roo, Roo, Roo . . . " Sorry!

As for selling as egg layers . . . I just can't get full from rooster eggs.

I gave away 6 grown roosters to a family at church in need of short term help and willing to 'do the deed' for meat. The next Sunday, the husband approaches and informs me that the 'hens' I sent him had been re-homed to a chicken farm for egg laying! (These birds were ALL 1-1 1/2 old and crowing to beat the band.) I hope their 'eggs' are more filling!

At 8 weeks, any with shiny feathers on their wings are roosters. Stew or fried would be a good choice for them in 8 more weeks.

I received 13 packing peanuts - all Barred Rocks. 2 of them turned out to be hens. And I am raising the boys for dinner.

their roosters they wont lay eggs.
they are all a bit aggressive. If I get them alone and hold them they seem to be ok for a bit (most of them) but you put them with the rest of the flock and its caos
