Hens ruining 1 part of my yard

Hello all!
Hope everyone is doing well during this time!

Looking for some help with an issue I've been having lately .. a new issue

I have 4 hens ( I got them almost 2 years ago now) And they are scratching up 1 section on my yard and grass just in the backyard- nothing in the front.. I attached a picture, the back is a slope so its not as big of an area as it may look.
Couple of questions I have are:

1. I'm not sure why this has started - maybe boredom?
2. Why just this 1 section?!
3. How do I get them to stop!!
4. Is there any grass feed or way to get my grass back that is safe for the chickens? Or will I have to block off that section from them?

You will have to fence them in where you want them. They won't stop.
There may be something living in the soil they want, maybe they like to sun or dust bathe there, who knows why.
