Hens stopped laying

I killed a HUGE black snake in my nesting box. He had one of my wooden eggs in his belly. Question # 1 would this had killed him or would he had been able to regurgitate it out? Question # 2. My hens have note laid a single egg since I killed him. It has been 3 days. Is this normal

1. I think the wood egg would kill it after a few days but its good you did the job to be sure.
2. The chickens could be laying somewhere else (safer?) or maybe they are stressed and just waiting to calm down again.
