I've noticed in my attempt to sell chicks that there are some incredibly rude people out there. I had an ad on Craigslist for black orpington x Iowa blue chicks for $1 each. I had a guy so full of himself that he emailed me and said, "If I'm going to drive that far to get chicks you're going to have to sell me 6 adult hens to seal the deal. I need hens that lay now." Sorry buddy, not sure what ad you read but I never offered any of my hens!

Some people!

Then he should have thought ahead and bought chicks last fall and raised them so they would be laying now

It is really hard to find POL and young hens around here so they go for a premium. No one would think of giving them away.

Yes, I advertised a lavender cochin rooster on craigslist last year. A guy emailed me and said "let me know your address so I can come pick up a hen".

......yeah, or not.
