I have four chickens born on 4/21/18. The rooster is named Angel; he's a big Easter egger. The hens are all frizzles - Billie, Daffy, and Perky. Perky is also a naked neck. None of the hens have laid eggs. Angel started crowing at only 3.5 months old, and he is all in to mating. The girls are not. Angel started raping Perky when she would come off the roost, making her naked neck bleed, pulling feathers, and she would scream. He mated with the other girls to a lesser extent. So, Perky just stopped coming off the roost, even though she was starving and thirsty. I had the chicken pen renovated after 30 years which required them to be confined for most of three weeks which made this worse. The renovation is over double the time and money, and it's only 75% done, and they're not coming back until they get space between other jobs. They were supposed to make a quarantine house and run but they never started on it. I've begun putting Angel out in the run while the girls have 10 minutes to eat while I go on a walk and then letting him back in. Even though he then just wants to eat, Perky has PTSD, and she goes right up to the roost. Daffy is now joining. Billie doesn't seem to care, and she spends all day on the ground with Angel. If I push Perky and Daffy off, they sometimes get raped but always go up to roost. They are not living. They have a huge run with roosts but I can't get them out there without forcing them. What do I do?
