Hi, I have 2 hens I'm worried about. The first one is Georgie. She's 3 years old and she started getting poop stuck to her butt, but acted normal, so I cut out all of the really gross feathers but now more poop is building up and today she was active, but slower than normal.

The next hen is marmalade.5 years old. She is currently sitting in some eggs so for the last few days she's been in the nesting boxes all day and getting up for an hour or two in the evenings, but this evening I went to check on her and she was just standing in the run (all the other chickens were out free ranging) and her tail was dropping. And I found 2 really weird poops. I think they're from her. She is also acting slower and has some poop on her butt feathers.

I have 90 dollars right now so I can buy stuff, and I have a TSC 1.5 miles away I can walk to it I can't get a ride. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can help them?

When did you last deworm them?

What exactly are you feeding?
Do they have access to clean water constantly?

Did you inspect the coop for poultry mites? This time of year they can suddenly show up and caise severe problems by sucking the blood of the chickens while they are roosting at night.

Do you have a rooster so the eggs your hen is sitting on are fertile?

about 2 months ago, with fenbendazole. I did my whole flock.

They have Dumor 17% all flock pellets with a bit of scratch grains. and they free range so they eat plants and bugs.
Do they have access to clean water constantly?
yes but I saw them sneak into the duck run and drink the dirty pond water

I found one mite on a chicken so I put Sevin insect killer in the coop and on the chicken I found the mite on and on as instructed by 4h leader.

yes

Drinking the dirty duck pond water can cause diarrhea as chickens are sensitive to duck bacteria.

You can feed the Moro's carrot soup which oftentimes works better than chemical antibiotics and helps to restore a healthy gut. But only use half the amount of salt as chickens' kidneys are sensitive to it.

Does the broody get off the nest every day to eat, drink and excercise her legs?
Did you check her and the nest for parasites?

With warmer temperatures the poopy butts will attract flies causing deadly fly strike. So keep their butts clean, trim back overgrown fluff and wash if necessary.

Thank you so much!! I will make sure the chickens can't get into the duck run anymore, I've been leaving the door open so the ducks could go out and free range but they prefer the run anyways.

She does. she's been broody for over a week but has only had her eggs for 3 days. so far every evening around 5ish once it starts cooling down she gets off the nest, which is fortunately bug free and so is she. Yesterday when she got off the nest I saw her running around with the other chickens but today when she got up she was just in the run which so I was worried.
