My Japanese Bantam went broody a couple of week s ago but she had no eggs under her so i broke her and 2 or 3 weeks later she hasn't laid a egg again. Why is this?

It takes a few weeks or even a month or two for the brooding hormones to clear the system, and for the hens to get back into good condition for laying. Brooding takes a physical toll on them. Hen hardly eat or drink while sitting.
Also, since it's the time of year when chickens start molting and days are getting shorter, she might not start laying again until after February.

Well for me it being the wrong time of year is good news because i live in Australia and the days are getting longer.

Might want to put that in your profile...so you get better info the first go round..

Japanese also aren't production layers. They're simply not going to lay like a dual purpose bird.

Well it doesn't matter any more she started to lay again today and this time shes laying in the nesting boxes and not behind them
