Her first egg!

My backyard mutt Layed her first egg today! A blue layer. Right at the 6th month mark.

The ones I have now, I’m not sure all, but I know me is a barred rock, but the other ones are just backyard mutts that just came with the house. I did just get a bunch of babies that are currently in the brooder and those are: Easter egger, olive egger, black sex link, splash Orpington, buff Orpington, silver laced and gold laced Wyandotte, blue ply rock, and mystic maran. I got one of each from my local hatchery!

I just found my first egg today!! My girls are 19wks old as of last Monday. I was so excited... it had thin shell and had a hole in it. Don't know if it was due to the thin shell or they pecked it I know the egg shells should get stronger but I call it a win.

I thought so. Most of my chicks are supposed to lay Large or extra large eggs
